is a short video comprised of still photographs that I have taken from the online auction website, eBay. On lawns, driveways and parking lots, all of the furniture pictured is, or was, for sale.Chairs
presents an unusual narrative of community, loss, and companionship—personified by chairs. This marching sequence of images brings these inanimate yet familiar objects to life, addressing a range of topics--from isolation and family, to consumerism and the ready-made, while the somber, dirge-like soundtrack contrasts the video's animated humor.
